Australia is an incredibly popular destination for skilled migrants. As of 2019, Australia’s preliminary net overseas migration (NOM) estimate was 249,700 people. The skilled migration system has 5 visa subclasses and is points based; applicants must meet at least 60 points from the General Skilled Migration (Skillselect) points tables to be considered. Under the Skillselect program skilled worker applicants can gain a permanent Australian visa.

This points-based visa is for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer, a state or territory, or a family member. With this visa, you can live and work permanently anywhere in Australia and eligible family members can be included in your application. This is a permanent visa and allows visa-holders to remain in Australia indefinitely with full employee rights.
